I still like Nowak because he helped turn DC United around, making them play hard nose soccer and reminded them how to fight for their teammates. But I don't think that Nowak is a long-term solution to any team. Personally, I think it's a great fit for the Union since they want to be known as a blue-collar soccer team. That's the way that Nowak likes to play and I think his team will definitely match that. One of the things I would caution Philly fans on (and I'm pretty sure that Bryan James remembers) is that some of United's players were turned off to Nowak's 120% push-150% of-the-time styled coaching (most notably Earnie Stewart and Ryan Nelsen). That said, Nowak is probably the best available coach right now and if you want to get started building a team, he's probably a good guy to get it going.
