- Celtic, Dominic Cervi
Remember former Chicago draft pick Dominic Cervi?
Yeah, that guy that passed on the Fire and MLS due to a low-ball figure offered to him by the league is now set to finally complete a deal with Scottish giants Celtic.
USA Under-23 international Cervi impressed while on trial at Celtic.
His move has been delayed since September but he is now due in Glasgow after receiving an Italian passport.
The University of Tulsa graduate rejected the chance to sign a contract with Major League Soccer after being selected by Chicago Fire.
Cervi is likely to remain an understudy to Artur Boruc, should the Pole remain with the Scottish champions next season, and the present number one’s countryman, Lukasz Zaluska, who has signed a pre-contract agreement to join the Glasgow club next season.
While Jon Busch has been fine for the Fire, having a kid like Cervi under him would have been good as well. More than likley he would have seen his fair share of time by now.
Let’s just say this one got away.
