Philadelphia Union Logo Leaked

I’m sure by now you’ve all seen this logo somewhere on the ‘net.

You know the more I say the name the better I like it. I know its kind of a cheap attempt to call them United but Union works for me for some reason. Plus lets be honest we have far worse names in the league already so this one isn’t that bad. Also, it probably has more to do with the bad ass crest that was leaked yesterday. The colors are great and really it may be the best logo in the league.

What do you make of it? Sad to not see a better name? Would you take a better name even if it meant the logo wasn’t as good?

    This crest is a flippin' fantastic crest. It already has the image of &quot;tradition&quot; rather than commercial. Great work. I like the name as well, but I am a bit worried about the whole initial thing. Oh well, perhaps management is just hoping to give Headline Writers easy ideas for the clubs first year – &quot;P.U.!     I'm very underwhelmed by the logo. They claim the colors represent the Philadelphia flag- NOT! Our official flag is sky blue &amp; yellow, not gold. Check wikipedia, even they have it as yellow, which I think would be a much look. For the fan from outside the United States, Union refers to Philly's long history of labor unions, not 1776. The 13 stars are supposed to represent the 13 original colonies but what does, New York, Rhode Island, ect have to do with Philly? Aren't you supposed to EARN stars by winning championships. The 4 stars my beloved Italian National Team sports mean more to me than a lazy space filler. Now for the nuclear bomb of the whole boring name game- Philly TV &amp; print media are reporting that SC will be added to the name (Soccer Club) Philadelphia Union Soccer Club or P.U.S.C. It won't take a rocket scientist to catch on that fans holding up signs calling us the PUS-C's are referencing a slang term for female genitalia. What a disaster.

    I think that they ought to go by Union Philadelphia because UP is better than PU but either way, I'm excited about the team, the name, and the crest. The crest is a little dull – I'd like to see a little more overtly Philadelphia too it, but the snake is pretty great. <br />

    Logo is lame… It looks like something the robot cops on futurama would wear. I think the name should be changed to the philadelphia future cop space snakes. Also, there are alot of sat and Sunday games… Which means going up against birds and phils. Bad move… I give it 5 years

    Personally, i hate soccer and feel it is by far the softest of all the sports (i cant take the dives and fake injuries, and my reason why a football loving country doesn't totally embrace it) That being said, Philly picked a good name with a great logo. I just dont understand why the MLS borrows all of those traditions that go into European soccer, such as the team scarfs and adopting the term &quot;football club&quot;. If we just dropped the inferiority complex we have with European soccer maybe we (you guys) could come up with our own brand of soccer that might be able to compete on a global scale. Japan didn't invent baseball but they caught up in talent, and they dont play it like we do. I guess Im saying, I dont know why we aspire to be as soft as the Europeans
