• David Beckham, Los Angeles Galaxy

He says he is committed to MLS…and honestly I don’t believe a word out of his mouth.

What do you make of it?

    Beckham has turned into Brett Favre.

    Lalas on the subject of booing??? He ought to know! I'm hoping against hope that Becks does indeed buy a franchise…namely LA because it'll tickle me to see how quickly some their fans who are planning on booing their own team's captain upon his return in July will put him right back up on a pedestal the day he's the owner, or before then if he takes them to the playoffs this year. Had that reporter done her homework and checked the attendance records for Galaxy games since Becks signed on, she'd have known what a difference he's made. David's right about European soccer vs. MLS…it's like comparing the NFL to college football. Yes I do believe he loves soccer, and I also believe he's about as sincere in what he says as any other member of MLS is during their interviews. That said, aren't my Quakes shaping up nicely? Frank's building the perfect beast—WHO-HOOOOOO—GO QUAKES!!!!!! :):):)

    Brilliant comparison!
@Cannon Girl,

Attendance at Galaxy home games has always been strong, even before Beckham arrived. Sure it has gone up some during his time here, but the team was making money before he joined, and will continue on after he is gone (hopefully soon). The big attendance jump for Beckham games has been on the road, and last year saw diminishing returns in that area, too.

Guarantee more than 5% of the LA fans will boo him! We are LA fans not Beckham fans!

No way the league should let that classless wanker have team! After a year and a half he will just try to move it to Europe for half the season. He has no loyalty accept to himself and his $$$$$!

We don't want him!!!!!!

    Skippy, Skippy, Skippy…I realize you're probably a little bitter from Becks failing to pose for photos with you or answer your fan mail, but give the guy a break—he's a very busy man who actually WORKS during the off-season. Now come on…booing your OWN captain? That's so 'Tool Academy' don't you think? Have a SMASHING day! WHO-HOOOOO—GO QUAKES!!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

    douchewaddle, thanks for coming and elevating exposure, but your on the field presence has been lacking, please stay and keep the Galaxy down at the bottom of the table. This elevates our chance of making the playoffs our first year. Please come back, retain your starting spot with no training with the team.

    He is committed so that he can come back after WC 2010 and play. He wants to own a MLS team which could be his reasoning.
