  • Amadou Sanyang, Player Signings

TFC has signed two Gambian defenders Emmanuel Gomez and Amadou Sanyang to contracts. Gomez joins Toronto from Gambian First Division club Samger FC while Sanyang joins from Real de Banjul FC, also in Gambia.

Gomez, 18, is a 6-foot-3 central defender who is a regular with the Gambian Under-20 national team while Sanyang, 17, is also a part of the Gambian Under-20 program.

“Gomez is very good in the air, has very good speed and is an outstanding young center back,” said TFC director of soccer Mo Johnston. “Amadou has great ability as well. He’s very talented and will be a great asset for many years to come.”

Sanyang won’t become a full member of Toronto FC until his 18th birthday, on Aug.1, as per FIFA regulations.
