- Adrian Serioux, David Ferreira, Trades
Looks like FC Dallas is finally set to make a couple key moves before the start of the 2009 season.
Or are they? The trade that has been out there for months is either on or off depending on who you listen to. Steve Goff says Dallas is planning on trading defender Adrian Serioux. While Buzz Carrick of 3rdDegree says there isn’t a deal on the table right now.
I think before the start of the season Serioux will be on the Toronto roster. I know nothing has been finalized but with talks heating up again on this deal something will likely get done.
Plus Dallas is also looking to sign a playmaker for their midfield, which means they will need some extra allocation cash to pay for one. Trading Serioux would make plenty of sense for that. Carrick also mentions that Dallas is interested in Columbian midfielder David Ferreira.
There had been mentions of Walter Gaitan last week. I think at this point Gaitan is a back up option for Dallas as Ferreira really makes a lot of sense at this point due to him being a member of FCD partner club Clube Atlético Paranaense.
Ferreira sounds like a good move for Dallas. They possibly get a guy that comes from a partner club who they have a tremendous relationship with.
