- Jhon Kennedy Hurtado, Player Signings
Expansion side Seattle Sounders FC is closer now to filling out their roster with the addition of two more internationals. One from Trinidad and Tobago and the other from Columbia.
I missed this signing the other day. The Sounders announced on Tuesday they signed T&T national team midfielder Densill Theobald. The 26-year-old has floated around a bit over the last couple years so I really don’t know what to make of him as a player.
Yesterday the club also announced the signing of Columbian defender Jhon Kennedy Hurtado. The team says Hurtado’s signing won’t be finalized until he gets his P-1 work permit and International Clearance.
I like this signing on the surface as Seattle still needed defensive help. He played the 2008 season for Deportivo Cali now Sounders teammate Fredy Montero, but most recently completed a trial with AC Milan in Italy. He spent the 2007 season with Real Cartagena in Colombia and played 121 matches in the Colombian first division since 2004.
