Sometimes a picture says a 1,000 words right? Last night during the Galaxy’s 2-0 in the Pan Pacific Championship some fans displayed their frustration for David Beckham.

Both photos via the Daily Mail.

    It was a mistake for Becks to come to the mls in the first place. The guy is a fitness freak and hes gunnu be able to play competative European soccer for a couple more years despite his age. Peopl that dont know soccer watch him play and think that he is no good anymore. For anyone who know soccer, you should know that Becks has never been a flashy player. but his vision and ability to serve balls be it free kicks or even run of play is brilliant. Im a season ticket holder to Galaxy and I wont be too upset if he leaves. Yeah it would be nice for him to stay. But honestly ask yourself what would you do if you were in his position? My ass would be playin for A.C. Milan.

    First of all, understand that two photos do not a trend make. Also, the Daily Mail is one of the less reputable tabloids in Britain.

Nevertheless, I read on another blog that the Galaxy is GIVING AWAY tickets to the Pan-Pacific final to season-ticket holders. It's quite possible that Galaxy management, in its quest for vengeance, wants to use (and I do mean "use") its season-ticket holders to send Beckham a "message."

Of course, if Galaxy management does that, it's just cutting its own throat when it comes to make a deal w/AC Milan.

Then again, Tim Leiweke is not the most intelligent nor the nicest person in the world, to put it diplomatically.

    Well, it's a half-truth that the Galaxy is giving away tickets to the PPC final… it's Bonus Game #1 for STH's, so technically they are not "free"…

The thing that I don't understand is that they were expecting people to shell out regular prices for last night's match. Really? With no Donovan or Beckham on a Wednesday night against a mediocre opponent in a meaningless competition? REALLY!?!?!

If AEG were truly interested in building on a solid fan base beyond Beckham, wouldn't they have tried to make the tickets more affordable, at least bringing the prices back to pre-Beckham levels?

Cost for a family of four:
$40/ticket *4
$4/hot dog *4
$4/soda *4
$15/parking

Total = $207

Gee, I can't think of a single person who WOULDN'T want to shell out $200 during the current economic crisis to watch a GLORIFIED PRE-SEASON GAME AGAINST AN UNINTERESTING OPPONENT!!!

How or why 5,000+ people showed up last night, I'll never understand.

    TJ, that's why those of us who know call AEG, "Amazingly Enterprising Gaugers."
