New Friday Deadline For Beckham

I hope he leaves, but the Galaxy need to make sure they get a fair price from AC Milan<br />

I have no respect for Beckham, and if he comes back I will be there booing him on opening day against DCU.<br />
Sure things are tough right now, but that is when your captain is supposed to rally the guys, not run off to Italy!<br />

LA sucks the life right out of every great player they're lucky enough to sign Skippy and you know it.

Oh I know the organization hasn't been run effectively the last few years (I'm still hurting from when they fired my boy Sigi), and when you are losing its easy to get the life sucked out of you (especially with Alexi Lalas around), but Beckham was supposed to be the cornerstone of the team. As such, he should have spent the offseason working with the younger guys helping them improve, or he should have given Bruce some feedback on players that could help the club (using his name to help recruit a CB would have helped). But Beckham just ran away.<br />

The bottom line is he signed on to help build a winning team. I don't fault him for not succeeding immediately, I fault him for giving up once it proved to be harder than he thought.<br />

Think about it this way…as bad as it got in LA, did Joe Cannon ever give up on the Galaxy? (they were the ones who traded him away). Even when they were losing he still was trying to organize the defense and help the team get wins. I respect that. I wish Beckham some of that. But he doesn't.

I think you got it mixed up…Beckham is the Turkey!!! I know he wasn’t surrounded by the most talent (far from it), but a real captain tries to rally the troops and turn things around. Beckham signed a contract to help the Galaxy and the league (remember he wanted to be the ambassador of the game?), but as soon as things get tough he wants to leave…what a baby!

He is a talented player with vision, passing skills, and a great right foot…but he lacks the toughness needed to captain a team (just ask the England fans) and be the spokesman the league needed. He is the ambassador and poster boy for overpaid quitters, who don’t do anything for thier clubs.
