In Dallas most people saw this coming at the end of last season. Midfielder and US Olympic team member Dax McCarty is set to be traded today from FC Dallas to San Jose, according to SBI.

Reports suggested that McCarty demanded a trade a couple months ago and the club looked to comply with the demands. The Hoops were hoping to move McCarty in a draft day deal last week but was unsuccessful in the process.

The details of the trade have yet to be released, but it is said that the Quakes will be sending a conditional draft pick to Dallas in the deal.

Dallas coach Schellas Hyndman told reporters yesterday that McCarty was home in Florida instead of being at the start of training camp in Frisco. Hyndman was pretty blunt about his time with McCarty.

I like this move for both parties. McCarty should get solid playing time in San Jose in what is now becoming a fairly deep midfield for Frank Yallop. Dallas unloads an unhappy player which should translate into a happier locker room.

EDIT: Turns out the Quakes have denied this tried or just flat out won’t admit to it happening…we will see!
