What can I say, I am a bit gitty about this news. For one I am a long-time Bayern Munich fan and secondly I want to see Landon Donovan do well outside of the US. So for me this kind of news is a win-win.

The U.S. national team star came off the bench and scored a goal in Bayern’s 2-0 win vs. Kaiserslautern on Monday. His goal was a typical thing of beauty out of Donovan.

Seeing him do well in German this time around makes many wonder exactly how long this stay will really be. Right now he is on loan until March but with a couple quality performances under his belt with the German club many believe this stay will be much longer than March.

I happen to agree with it. Plus I honestly think it is time for Donovan to try his hand at Europe one last time for good anyways. Plus the league will certainly cash in on the move if it happens. A huge transfer sum will come to the league and I see the Galaxy only getting better for it in return. Sure they lose their best scorer but they will open up some serious cap space in the process.

What do you think of Donovan’s successful run with Bayern? Do you see Bayern making a major bid for Donovan before his loan expires? Think it’s time for Donovan to stay in Europe?

Of course it's time for Donovan to stay. He seems to be integrating nicely into the side, and I'm hoping for the best. I wonder what your take is on Steve Davis' opinion that MLS and Bayern might not be able to agree on a transfer fee, resulting in LD going back to LA. I can't see that happening in light of how well he's been playing, but it's certainly a possibility knowing the history of MLS and transfers.
Another quick thought- If Landon's apparent comfort level is a result of Jurgen's influence, it really is too bad the MNT job didn't go to him (and that's not a shot at Bob).

That goal against Kaiserslautern was a great finish!
LD should stay in Europe! He needs to be challenged, and it looks like working under JK's guidance is the best place for that to happen.
I think a permantant move to Bayern is the best for everyone involved, and I say that as a Galaxy fan…and a Bayern fan.
Drew, I had no idea you were a fan of the Bavarian powerhouse!
