- Brian Namoff, Player Resignings
Most expected DC United would have to draft a certain way Thursday if they didn’t re-sign a couple players. Today they were able to ease some concerns over how they were going to draft when the club announced they were able to re-sign defender Brian Namoff to a new contract according to various reports.
DC has been doing a slight make-over to their roster as of late by re-signing a few key players from 2008 while getting rid of dead weight contracts. Namoff was looked as one of the more reliable players with the club last year.
United still holds the 6th and 7th pick in Thursday’s draft. No word yet if they are still planning on keeping both picks or if they are still in the running to trade up to try and get one of the top two picks. I will have more on that later.
I still see United holding on to both spots as they should be able to land two solid prospects.
The Black-and-Red are also close to getting a loan deal with Honduran Walter Martinez.
