Eylander Signs With MLS Sounders

Well, it's to see them planning for the future knowing that Keller doesn't have many years left, but I have to question the Sounders' lack of signings at more important positions. I am not downgrading the importance of a keeper but it seems that (from the limited rumors I have heard, not being a Sounders fan) they now have two goalkeepers, two forwards, an aging DP, and one or two other midfielders and forwards. Are they really relying on the draft that much? Can they really get that much young talent that will be ready for the MLS, along with any trades they make? I think that so far they haven;t managed the team quite as well as they could have. They should be looking abroad to fill up some foreign rosters spots before the draft and during the January transfer window, which is when many European teams especially like to add and cut players. If they were utilizing more of the old USL Sounders' talent, along with some foreign slots before the draft, then I wouldn't even be commenting. But it doesn't sound like the Sounders are too interested in doing anything but buying forwards and keepers. Any thoughts?

Sounders fan here – I basically agree, but I'm withholding final judgment until the season starts. Here's the best possible lineup with what we have so far: <br />

So, this makes a few assumptions, including that the Sounders will finalize a rumored loan deal for Costa Rican defender Roy Miller. Add in the draft picks, a few USL Sounders, and maybe one or two surprises, and you get the final roster. <br />

Is this a playoff roster? Tough to say it is, but there's potential I think. Looking at the roster I actually think we need another forward; we'd be toast if Jaqua went down. (Yes, I think Jarrod Smith was a bad pick.)
