I had a feeling the issue between Columbus and Seattle would get resolved rather quickly. I just got this little release sent to me that the two sides have settled on a deal involving Sigi Schmid.
Major League Soccer announced Friday that the Columbus Crew and Seattle Sounders have resolved a potential contractual issue regarding former Columbus coach Sigi Schmid.
Columbus acquired allocation money and cash from Seattle as compensation. Schmid is now released from any contractual obligations and free to proceed with his contract negotiations with Seattle. Major League Soccer also said it found no evidence of tampering by Seattle.
No evidence and sending cash means the league stepped in before this got real ugly. Smart move on their part too in my opinion.
So I guess this means Seattle will name Schmid as their new head coach on Monday right?
