  • 2010 World Cup, Guatemala, US National Team, World Cup qualifying

I won’t go too far into this since it won’t be an official roster until Sunday. This is just a roster for a four-day training camp in Denver, not necessarily for the qualifier against Guatemala. A few names will probably be added/dropped but at least this time we can all rest on the no Kenny Cooper thing, he was actually called into camp this time around.

GOALKEEPERS: Brian Edwards (Toronto FC), Troy Perkins (Valerenga IF), Matt Pickens (out of contract).

DEFENDERS: Jonathan Bornstein (Chivas USA), Sean Franklin (Los Angeles Galaxy), Cory Gibbs (Colorado Rapids), Clarence Goodson (IK Start), Drew Moor (FC Dallas), Michael Parkhurst (New England Revolution).

MIDFIELDERS: Colin Clark (Colorado Rapids), Ricardo Clark (Houston Dynamo), Sacha Kljestan (Chivas USA), Nick LaBrocca (Colorado Rapids), Pablo Mastroeni (Colorado Rapids).

FORWARDS: Davy Arnaud (Kansas City Wizards), Chad Barrett (Toronto FC), Conor Casey (Colorado Rapids), Brian Ching (Houston Dynamo), Kenny Cooper (FC Dallas).

Any real shockers? We knew this would be a heavy MLS roster. One name that sticks out more than Cooper, okay two names, are Nick LaBrocca and Davy Arnaud. Good on Bob to try some new folks out.

I'm glad to see connor casey and some other guys get the chance. But Bob can't do this too much or it will interfer with those trying to go overseas (you have to appear in 3/4's the national team games to get an English workpermit).
