MLS Redesigns MLS Cup Trophy

The new trophy is attention-getting – it's the first thing that drew my eyes when I clicked on the page. But the old trophy was pretty good too – it just looked a little too generic, like something you would expect to see at a state-champion level. At the very least, we can all thank our lucky stars they got rid of that first one. What an eyesore!

New one looks good. Last one looked like a cheap attempt to copy the Lombardi trophy in the NFL. At least now it looks like we are trying to copy the Champions League…a great trophy from a great tournament that is on the same sport.<br />

I like the first trophy.

The first one was the best trophy far and away, however the new one isn’t bad. I’m not a big fan of the Handles but, otherwise it’s pretty good.

Okay, glad to see that the Commissioner is so concentrated on designing and implementing a new trophy for MLS. Way to go! This is definitely going to help the league in all facets. Why doesn't the Commissioner just pull his head out of his ass and concentrate on the salary issues of most of the players who make below minimum wage as well as fix the officiating issues that plague this league night in and night out. The officiating this year has been utterly pathetic, outright disgusting to watch. Oh, but, the MLS cup does look nice!

Glad to see it is actually a cup now. I like it.
