WVHooligan - Soccer Blog

Busy Friday for me here so the picks will be quick today. Six games this weekend, three each day so there is plenty of action.

Feel free as always to pipe in your predictions below.

New England Revolution – at – Kansas City Wizards: A home-and-home series between these two clubs in the final three weeks of the season. New England is already in the playoffs and KC has a decent shot with two home games left. New England needs some momentum going into the playoffs though but I don’t see it starting here. KC is desperate again to reach the playoffs and that will bread over into a win over New England.

WVH Prediction: KC 2, New England 1

————————————————————————————–

Toronto FC – at – FC Dallas: Toronto is about as good as done here and they will be without a few of their key players again due to international callups. Dallas is still in a good position to reach the playoffs here. They start to get the ball rolling this weekend with a home win against Toronto. I see Jeff Cunningham sticking it to John Carver and his old club.

WVH Prediction: Dallas 3, Toronto 1

—————————————————————————————

Chivas USA – at – San Jose Earthquakes: Both pushing for the playoffs, San Jose is going to start being desperate here with this home game. Chivas just needs a couple points to get into the playoffs and I think they will get one out of this match. San Jose gets a draw out of this one due to some shaky offense.

WVH Prediction: San Jose 1, Chivas 1

—————————————————————————————

Columbus Crew – at – Chicago Fire: Columbus just needs a couple points to wrap up the Supporter’s Shield and the Fire just need a point or two to wrap up a playoff spot of their own. I think the Fire have been on auto-pilot for months here. I think the Crew are more interested in getting their second Supporter’s Shield trophy here and maintaining their momentum. Look for Blanco and Brian McBride hook up in this one but the Crew to come back with GBS and Robbie Rogers.

WVH Prediction: Chicago 1, Columbus 1

—————————————————————————————

DC United – at – Houston Dynamo: DC is in a bad position here and now are on the road in Houston this weekend. I really don’t like their chances now that Fred and  Marcello Gallarado are out for the year. I believe they have more injuries that just those two but those are pretty big losses to their midfield. The Dynamo should be able to keep their momentum up and try to push Columbus for the Supporter’s Shield trophy.

WVH Prediction: Houston 3, DC 1

—————————————————————————————

Colorado Rapids – at – LA Galaxy: Here is a good position for the Rapids to stay in the playoff race. LA will be without both David Beckham and Landon Donovan. As we all know that never ends pretty for the Galaxy. Can the Rapids get consistent here after last week’s home blowout loss to the Dynamo. I think this one ends in a draw though because of some real spotty defense on both ends. Edson Buddle steps up and brings the Galaxy even late.

WVH Prediction: LA 2, Colorado 2
