  • Guatemala, US National Team, World Cup qualifying

U.S. national team coach Bob Bradley has named a 17-man roster for the U.S. team’s World Cup qualifying match against Guatemala set for next Wednesday in Guatemala City.

No real shockers out of this bunch. The 17 called up leads me to believe he will be calling in a couple more before its all said and done. Its a very heavy-MLS group. Still no Kenny Cooper.

Here is the roster:

GOALKEEPERS: Tim Howard, Brad Guzan.

DEFENDERS: Oguchi Onyewu, Carlos Bocanegra, Heath Pearce, Steve Cherundolo, Frankie Hejduk, Jay DeMerit.

MIDFIELDERS: Michael Bradley, Maurice Edu, Sacha Kljestan, Pablo Mastroeni, Eddie Lewis.

FORWARDS: Landon Donovan, Eddie Johnson, Brian Ching, Clint Dempsey.

I think we should petition for the firing of Bob Bradley. EJ and Ching again?? Not to mention leaving out Cooper, Adu, Altidore, and including Sacha and Edu RIGHT after the Olympics, Eddie Lewis who is clearly too old, and Bradley who really should be with his club. Also, I would like to see Marvell Wynne, even though I complained about the other Olympians. He really impressed me against Holland and Nigeria, and I want to see him at some point before the World Cup (I would also like to see him In the World Cup).
