- Allocation List, Kasey Keller, Player Signings, Seattle Sounders FC
Just wanted to pass along a little nugget that a few of you had been asking me about. We all know that expansion side Seattle Sounder FC have signed keeper Kasey Keller for next year when they come into the league. But the question came up about what it would mean for their allocation.
Well, turns out the club will be using their top allocation spot in next year’s order to grab Keller. In other words they will begin the year (at least I am reading it this way) at the bottom of the Allocation List and not the top like all expansion club usually do.
I think this will be a trend that will continue in future expansion clubs. Grab a high profile player from the Allocation system before the club even takes the field. Sure its a gamble but it could pay off in the end.
