This is starting to be a bit of a saga here, the funky relationship between Toronto FC manager John Carver and striker Jeff Cunningham. I’ve been saying for months really that Cunningham would be on his way out and it appears that way.

Lots of talk around the league right now about where exactly Toronto will move Cunningham to. Of course they are holding out to get some sort of compensation for him instead of just waiving him.

Lots of rumors going out right now about that destination, I thought it would be good to look at them all from what I’ve been hearing and who I still think could be interested.

LA Galaxy: Believe it or not but according to Steve Goff the Galaxy are interested. I really curious to see why exactly the Galaxy would be interested in Cunningham. With Donovan, Ruiz, and Buddle up top for the club it makes little sense to add another striker right?

FC Dallas: I’ve been talking about Dallas being interested in Cunningham for a while (during the whole McBride saga), long before it became a rumor. I know Schellas Hyndman wants another striker but I honestly doubt it being Cunningham at this point. He would be a more experienced Dominic Oduro at this point and really I would take Oduro over Cunningham any day right now.

Chivas USA: They may be out of the Carlos Ruiz running right now but I wouldn’t be shocked to see them be a player for Cunningham. Their offense still isn’t that healthy and Cunningham would be a decent enough addition that could help them push for a playoff spot.

San Jose Earthquakes: I honestly don’t think the Quakes are done making moves here. Another striker on their list still seems to be the case and trading for Cunningham wouldn’t shock me at all right now with the way they are dealing.

Kansas City Wizards: I know they got Josh Wolff but is there offense really any better? Then again would adding Cunningham help?

Seattle Sounders FC: It would not shock me one bit to see him in a Seattle uniform…next year. Think Johnston would trade him to a team that won’t even play until next year? It could happen.

Clubs not interested but could still be:

New York Red Bulls: Yeah…still not interested. But never say never right?

Columbus Crew: The trade for Pat Noonan pretty much sealed the deal for the Crew to not go after Cunningham.

Colorado Rapids: Should they be interested? Yes. But seeing how little they’ve done this summer in terms of moves I would say they won’t be making a deal for him.

Real Salt Lake: Adding some offense seems to be where this club could go but I doubt they would go for a guy that didn’t want to be there a year or so ago.

Houston Dynamo: Kind of like the Columbus situation, trading for Kei Kamara and signing Nate Jaqua pretty much ended any possible trade for Cunningham. Then again you just never know if Dominic Kinnear wants more up top.

Where do you all see Cunningham go? Think there will be a player for them in a trade deal or will Cunningham just end up getting waived before long?

In order for Cunningham to come to RSL, Kreis would have to be fired first. Ain’t gonna happen.
