Blanco Given Two Year USOC Ban

One word: AWESOME. Get this bum off the pitch. Although I must say, he is a talented player. However, talent does not make one a great person or player. Attitude does, and he is a little baby. <br />

I would like to see him miss a couple league games, but MLS would never do that to &quot;the Mexican David Beckham&quot; (direct quote from Garber at the All-Star game).

I don't think the MLS should do anything about discipline in US Open Cup games. Maybe the Chicago Fire could have suspended Blanco a game or two internally to demonstrate a little respect for fair play but overall I think the punishment is fair. The MLS isn't concerned about Blanco embrassing the league, it's concerned about the USL embarrassing MLS by beating their ass in a competive match that counts and then some intrepid US soccer reporter asking David Beckham to explain his greatest moments in the FA Cup and then doing the sporting thing and tipping his cap to the USL.

This &lsquo;player&rsquo; has done nothing but brought disrespect to the MLS with his fiery actions.<br />

He thinks and behaves as though he&rsquo;s in a bull fighting circle not a soccer pitch. <br />

He doesn&rsquo;t belong in &lsquo;professional&rsquo; sports and the MLS should be even more ashamed of themselves for making this player an all star just because the league pays him a lot of money. Because they do, he should be setting an example for children watching him. I&rsquo;ve been to Chicago&rsquo;s pitch and they sell blank jerseys and Blanco jerseys&hellip;. They&rsquo;re saying look at this &lsquo;player&rsquo; in awe. The &lsquo;player&rsquo; that throws punches, head butts officials, DIVES ALL OVER THE FIELD, and is generally an embarrassment to professional sports everywhere.<br />

He deserves punishment but banning him from USOC for two years will do little to even be an issue to him. He should have been charged with two counts of assault (one against the player with video evidence and one against the official if it really happened). and not only banned from all FIFA sanctioned games but also fined the equivalent to a full season&rsquo;s salary. <br />

The only thing people actually understand is when something impacts their income.<br />

MLS doesn&rsquo;t have the courage to do that though. They lack the &lsquo;courage&rsquo; to actively discipline someone they&rsquo;ve held in such high esteem (without having earned it) and taking actions such as I&rsquo;ve suggested would only indicate that they&rsquo;ve made a mistake in acquiring this wanna-be gladiator as a role model to children. MLS hates any negative publicity that&rsquo;s why their video streams are removed from websites all the time, that&rsquo;s why scuffles after hard fouls are never posted as video and that&rsquo;s why they once again did nothing to justifiably punish someone they called an all star. <br />

The very fact that the league appointed him an all star is laughable and why real stars look to leave the league for greener pitches in Europe. In Europe, millions of eyes are on every move their professionals make and an embarrassing idiot like Blanco could never play, let alone thrive.<br />

As long as he continues to be associated with MLS, they should be ashamed of themselves. Chicago Fire fans are being swindled and led to the slaughter house blind being force fed appreciation for this piece of trash. At least they can cheer for a REAL PLAYER when McBride joins them.
