Toja is doing great in Bucharest. He played in the 2 qualifying UCL matches against Galatasaray and did extremely well… He is already an idol to the Steaua fans because of his impressive skills.
Thanks FCD for this great player and good luck in the future…

to micutu. toja is 6′1. get ur facts straight. and also he’s not the fastest the guy on fc dallas, but he’s not the slowest either.

I live in Dallas so I guess i like “the hoops” but ive been a life long Steaua fan…

Disapointed that Dica left, and uncertain about the new signings… The thing that bothers me the most is that the Romanian Media talk about Toja like they know him, most ppl in the media never seen him play so why glorify him so much….
I hope im wrong, but he wont be at steaua after Christmas, because he wont be able to acomodate with the team… I wish em the best tho, to Steaua, FCD and Toja…

Well said micutu…Toja doesn’t seem to have the skill or style of play that will fit in at Steaua. Glad to hear other Stelisti are having similar doubts.

Im an FCD fan and a fan of Steaua … I like Toja, he is a good player but he will not adapt at Steaua. He is not made for Champions League and there are a number of players at Steaua that he will have to compete with.
1. Dayro Moreno – also from columbia
2.Plesan
3.Ovidiu Petre
2 and 3 are both romanian nationals, so expect them to have an advantage over Toja..

not to mention owner favorite Banel Nicolita – who will start regardles if Toja is better than him

And another thing, he is short and/but NOT fast egnough for a short guy ….

We need to remember that MLS is a feeder league and players need to be sold both for their good and the good of the league. With the rare exception Dallas has gotten something for the players that leave although not normally full value since it’s been clear they want out prior to leaving. Obviously Goodson is an exception since he went on a free.
With the small salary cap (that only applies to FCD and a few others) the league can’t compete with the Euro leagues if they want our players. An example is Goodson who reportedly turned down just under $200K and left anyway. The question is would he have stayed if the league had redone his deal (which grossly under paid him) earlier like maybe before the last year of the deal. They have another chance with Cooper so we will see what if anything they learned. The smart money says NO.

I don’t have a problem with Toja leaving (even though I am HUGE fan of his). I DO have a HUGE problem with FCD management — if this actually happens — because they have officially said NOTHING to their fan base (a story in Spanish with a MH quote doesn’t cut it) about it. Hitchcock was forced to say something on the Blog last week because fans were (and are!) reading Romanian new sites for info. I realize that that is hardly a reliable source. However, should Toja actually leave after the All Star Game, I will be livid with FCD management for NOT bothering to even officially keep us informed. Just a simple “the terms are confidential, but this is what we can tell you . . .” would be (would have been?) appreciated.
