- Joe Vide
At least according to Craig Stouffer at the Washington Examiner:
Midfielder Joe Vide, who was recently released by San Jose, is set to sign with D.C. United this afternoon, according to a source. Vide, who is slated to earn $33,000 this season, for the moment takes United’s 18th and final open senior roster spot. The 24-year-old from Raleigh, N.C., is in his third season out of Virginia. He spent his first two years with New York, appearing in 16 games (13 starts) last season. He was taken by the Earthquakes in the expansion draft and has made five appearances (two starts) this year.
Honestly it sounds like a solid pick up for DC. Some readers here wanted LA to go after him, while I know of a couple other clubs out west that were looking at Vide as well. He’s young, cheap and a pretty solid player so I think DC got a good deal here. Its good to see him stay in the league and not have to find work elsewhere.
