MLS Expansion: Portland Website

via MLSrumors One quick update. Some fans up in Portland have put together a website for their effort to bring a MLS club to the city.

Also, it sounds like they have something coming soon. Like July 24th soon. Last time I checked that is around the All-Star game. I don’t know if who ever is running this site is really in the know for a possible expansion club or if they are just saying something is going down for the sake of it. Either way it looks very promising for this city.

That ain’t the fans, that’s a website owned and operated by PTFC… watch the flash nonsense all the way through and it links to the Timbers homepage.

Merritt Paulson has been developing a plan for awesomeness to present to the city, and he’s given himself a due date.

2010 SuperLiga Qualifiers
The next best four clubs in the overall standings after the CCL selections. (typically clubs #5 - #8 in the standings is possible)

USOC Qualifiers
Top 6 automatically qualify for the 2010 US Open Cup; the other eight (Toronto does not participate in USOC) are put through qualifying rounds in the tournament.

**- Head-to-head is the first tiebreaker
