My week five awards may resemble my April Awards that will come out last this week. I’m gonna make this snappy since there really isn’t much to build up for the player of the week in Major League Soccer here. Without a doubt it has to be Landon Donovan. Solid hat trick, and the guy now has eight goals on the year (and two assists).

Just amazing if you ask me. I’m no math major or anything but at his pace right now we could be seeing a record breaking season here from Lando. Too bad he will miss some time this summer with the US National Team. But saying that I hope his carries over to the National side during World Cup qualifying.

So yeah, without much to say, the WVH Player of the Week goes to Landon Donovan….again.

Here’s a couple of his goals:

But as for my goal of the week…it has to be this strike by Sasha Kljestan. Some will go with one of Donovan’s, some will go with Guevara’s free kick and others will go with Gallardo’s volley. Me, I go with this goal just because it was pure class out of Kljestan.

Congrats to Landon Donovan for his hat-trick and &quot;Gordie Howe hat-trick&quot; (a goal, assist and card)<br />

he really should have had 4 goals which is amazing. one thing that still bothers me is why he did that hand ball early in the game to get a card, not like he needed to prevent a goal or anything.
