conrad_goal1.jpgWeek two definitely had its highs and lows. Lots of goals and at times little defense. A couple clubs are looking good while a few others still look as bad as last year.

A lot could change in a short time and this week could be that time for it all to change. But looking back on week two, the week that was those 22 goals. They are all below, thanks as always to Climbing the Ladder for them each week.

Let’s start with player of the week. Lots of good candidates to pick from here. Just about any number of Chicago Fire players (Chad Barrett, Blanco, Tomasz Frankowski all come to mind), same goes for DC’s attack and Kenny Cooper. But for me I have to give love where the love is due and that my friends is to Jimmy Conrad. Yes, the Wizards defender headed home two goals in the 3-2 win over the Colorado Rapids to earn my vote for MLS Player of the Week.

Jimmy congrats mate. You all should know by now that when I see a defender play well I typically reward them. Plus his club now stands alone atop the MLS standings with six points.

As for goal of the week, that is another story. Lots of quality strikes to pick from. I loved Kenny Cooper’s lob over Houston backup Tony Caig. All of Chicago’s goals were very nicely done and so were both of LA’s goals from David Beckham and Landon Donovan. But my pick stays in the Lone Star state and goes out to my boy Geoff Cameron for his late game heroics against FC Dallas yesterday.

That shot was just an absolute laser into the top right corner. Nothing Dario Sala could do about it.

Here are the rest of the goals from week two.

Who’s your player of the week? And what was your favorite goal?
