Seattle To Be Named Today

Posted by drew.epperley under: MLS; News and Rumors; Seattle Sounders FC; expansion talk .

Tune in today at 2 pm (CT) or whatever timezone you are in for the Seattle press conference.

Here is a part from the media alert sent to the WVHooligan mailbox.

MLS Seattle to Reveal Name, Badge and Colors

WHAT: MLS Seattle name, badge and colors announcement

WHO: Joe Roth Majority Owner, MLS Seattle Adrian Hanauer
Owner & General Manager, MLS Seattle, Tod Leiweke CEO, Vulcan Sports & Entertainment

WHEN: Monday, April 7 at 12:00 noon

WHERE: Space Needle SkyLine Level 400 Broad Street

The news conference will be available via satellite. Specific coordinates will be available later in the week.

And according to this report, Seattle FC and the write in candidate Seattle Sounders are the two frontrunners. So yeah, expect a Seattle FC logo to be revealed. As much as I would like to see the Sounders name kept I just have a feeling it won’t and that the write in thing was a bunch of nothing to save a little face on the horrible names like Republic and Alliance.

I also expect them to have green as their primary color. The league needs more green and damnit Seattle is going to give it to them.

Still, they will be showing this on their website (MLSinSeattle.com) and probably on MLSnet.com as well.

One Comment so far...
