Seattle In Negotiations With Henry?

Posted by Drew Epperley under: MLS; News and Rumors; Seattle Sounders FC .

While I never to get catch World Soccer Daily as much as I would like, I did tune into today on my way into work and heard this little quote from Steve Cohen:

“I was told that the Seattle franchise is in advanced negotiations with Thierry Henry.”

While I must say that I am a bit surprised to hear such news, it makes sense that the owners in Seattle are looking to make a huge splash going into next year if they can. They have deep pockets so anything is possible.

More to come on this later on…

Update: Since this is coming from Cohen we may want to take this with a grain of salt. He’s been wrong many times before on things like this but then again we never really know how much a new owner will invest in a club when they join the league. Seattle may just surprise us all.

Oh man, that would be awesome. If Seattle did manage to somehow get Henry on their team, they just might not finish at the bottom of the table their first year…maybe.

Fuck Seattle.

That said, Henry would show up Beckham as a DP, and perhaps set an example of how a good DP makes a team. I’d love to see him in the MLS, but again, Fuck Seattle.

For those of us who watched Seattle Sounders destroy Atlanta in the USL finals, and saw us tromp some of the MLS during the open cup, our french league MVP Sebastian Le Toux would gladly welcome some french blood to the squad. But it’s still a year away. I doubt it is coming to reality.

p.s. Clay Bennett can take the Sonics for all I care, he is going to lose money in OK City.
