Imitation? Wrong Again

Its always an interesting thing to see your site listed elsewhere on the internet. Mine is that case since I know it isn’t the world’s most popular blog nor is it the world’s most popular MLS blog. I got several emails this afternoon telling me about a post on MLS Rumors and questioning me in why I would buy a domain similar to that name.

Yes, I did go out a couple weeks back and buy MLSrumors.net and had it point to my domain here. Mostly I saw it as a way to drive more hits to this site as rumors and gossip start to get people more interested in soccer. While I will say the Beckham-in-a-bar gossip and other things of that nature aren’t my cup of tea, I did see the value in getting more attraction to this blog. Most people should be able to understand that.

I do this blog for personal reason as most of you know. It isn’t a full time job but I treat it as one. So to make it work out better in my favor I did just that by buying a domain. Plus when I bought the domain it was dirt cheap (godaddy.com…I highly recommend sites like this if you are interested in domains and hosting…cheap plug but I mean it).

As far as it being a form of imitation to MLS Rumors. Believe me it is not; I think most of you will agree that my site is in no way shape an imitation of their site. We are both different in our own rights but similar in the love of the game. Plus I see no need to rate rumors on a grading system, that is just silly sometimes to read.

Also, I didn’t buy in hopes that it would be sold to MLS Rumors as well. I bought for the reasons above. I know they are holding out for MLSrumors.com anyways!

Just as they said in a comment, its all for the good of the game.
