Only a couple names to even mention today that cleared waivers and were picked up by a new club.
D.C. United added defender Jeff Curtin, who was let go from Chicago; Houston adds Kyle Brown (RSL) and Chicago picks up defender Brandon Prideaux (Colorado).
I didn’t see Kelly Grey’s name out there even though he was being talked up a lot this afternoon by several clubs. He could still see someone pick him up. The same goes for Kyle Martino, would have thought a New York or someone would have given him a look. It probably hurt that most of these clubs are overseas right now in training camp. So we may still see something next week.
I’m also surprised that San Jose didn’t pick anyone up again in this waiver draft. They still have a lot of work to do but I guess Frank Yallop didn’t want anybody’s sloppy seconds…or thirds.
