Set the Name: MLS Philly

Now that we all know that Philadelphia will be named the MLS’s 16 club, its time to start figuring out what to call them. With the 15th club set to reveal its name in the next couple of weeks up in Seattle (word has it they want to be called Emerald City Greens or something like that), I figure it is as good of a time as any to figure out Philly’s name.
Their lead support group the Sons of Ben have already nailed down a couple names that they want. Either Philadelphia Athletics or Philadelphia Independence (I believe that was the second name they mentioned).
Honestly I am fine with either name. Though I did think something like ‘Old City FC’ or ‘Athletico Philadelphia’ or ‘AC Philadephia’.
Any of those three sound fine to me. Philly sure has a few better names floating around than Seattle does at the moment. I still like Emerald City FC for their name but they need to take out the Greens.
