Fire Signs Frankowski

Quick update in the terms of player movement. The Chicago Fire have signed Polish striker Tomasz Frankowski.

A formal announcement of the deal will happen either sometime today or tomorrow.

The two sides have been working on a contract for the last several days. The 33-year-old striker is coming over from Wolverhampton, but he is more noted for his time at Polish clib Wiksa Krakow where he played 173 games in seven years and scored 115 goals in that time.

He looks like an old-ass man if you really think about it. But this is a solid move for Chicago due to the Polish population in the city, which means more butts in the seats at Toyota Park.

It will be interesting to see how he works with Blanco and guys like Barrett and Rolfe.

What do you Fire fans make of this move? Good, bad or ugly?
