What could very well be a good find for FC Dallas, word has it today that the club is looking very heavily in signing Chilean forward Reinaldo Navia.
Sources around Dallas tell me the club is indeed looking at the 29-year-old striker, who is currently with Argentina’s Racing Club, to fill the scoring void now that Carlos Ruiz is a member of the LA Galaxy.
A part of me says, sure, go for it Dallas while the other part of me doesn’t want this move to happen. Navia is another one of those players that you either love or love to hate. He has bounced around from club to club over the last several years. Spending half a season in one club and then moving on to another.
He does have some ties to current Dallas defender Duilio Davino, the two played together for a couple seasons in Mexico for Club America.
Some may know him from the Chilean national team, where he has been a vital member since 1999. He has 40 caps for the national side and has scored 10 goals in that time.
Navia is a scorer though and if he comes with a good head on his shoulders for once he could very well be one of the better off-season signings for any club. Dallas will have to make a move or two to sign him since they are currently all full on international slots on their roster. Though I believe Marcelo Saragosa is close to a green card which would help free up a slot for him if they do indeed sign him.
I get mixed feelings on this one but it would be a decent signing for the club and the league. What do you all think, good potential move for Dallas or not?
