At this point, the Dynamo need to acquire another competent forward to go with Ching, not necessarily a superstar but someone of enough caliber to get them thru the first few months of the season and then they can re-evaluate their needs. Cunningham would be worth the gamble but Kinnear is big on how guys fit in and Cunningham seems to cause problems everywhere at some point. I'd see if we could get Razov but I don't see Chivas trading with us.

I'm trying to figure out what happens to Corrales' rights if the Dynamo don't want or can't afford him but can't swing a reasonable deal with anyone? Do the rights revert back to the league or can they get allocation money from the league for passing on him?

The Dynamo need forwards and/or cash to get forwards, but by being near the cap we are likely looking at either a project or a foreign retread.

Appreciate your write-ups but I think you are way off here with the link to Toronto FC. Toronto has Dunivant & Brennan both on the left side of the backfield who they would probably prefer to Corrales. Even if they did not they have no depth up front to deal away to help a position of strength on their roster.

I see 1 of 2 things happening:

1. Corrales stays here, providing even more depth at defense and DeRo movesup top. Not a great solution, but it could work.

2. Corrales is dealt ala your scenarios above. I think this is Corrales' greatest asset to the club. Dealing for Razov would be nice but with some downside, though with Alecko there, Razov becomes expendable. Chicago is my guess, though I love your Jeff Cunningham idea. And you're right, this IS fun!
