Good afternoon to all, only a couple updates for right now to discuss all based on two guys coming over to the MLS very soon. I’ve been spending more time lately trying to work out a new site design to replace this one, it’s actually more work that I really want to put into it but hopefully once I get it all taken care of it will look very nice and you all will enjoy it as much as I think you all will.
Anyways, on to the task at hand.
Another Mexican national team member could be on his way to the MLS, Bofo Bautista, currently of Jaguares de Chiapas and formerly and probably more known for his time at with CD Guadalajara. The 28-year old striker said he is interested in coming to the MLS and quite possibly to Chivas USA. Now the article doesn’t say that Chivas is actively going after him but its a move I think they should go for with the amount of cap money that they have right now.
Most of you may know him from the Mexican national team, and his similarities to Blanco when it comes to his passing. But more importanly if he does come to the MLS, he does know how to score. Something I’m sure Chivas fans would love to have more of this season.
Question is what would Chivas do with three quality strikers? Obviously that puts more pressure on them to trade Ante Razov if they go out and sign an international striker like Bautista. And that is a good thing really, Razov will become good trade bait for clubs like Houston and San Jose who need strikers right now.
Even if you hate the guy you have to think if there is any truth to him possibly coming to the MLS that it is a good thing.
The second move of the afternoon centers around Real Salt Lake. Reinaldo a 23-year old Brazilian striker currently at A-League side Queensland Roar could be linked to a move to the Rocky Mountain club.
Reinaldo has said he is looking at his future but is solely focused on helping Roar win the A-League championship this season. Also his club has said he isn’t currently for sale at the moment but we all know money does talk and with DC landing former A-League star Fred last year, the league must know some way of dealing with that league for players.
I look at this kind of rumor and think it won’t happen at the moment but the A-League does wrap up its season at the end of the month so we could still see a move like this happen even if Roar wins the championship.
Reinaldo could be a good fit in the young attack that Jason Kreis has going on in Salt Lake City with Robbie Findley and company. The kid can score and has gotten a lot of attention from clubs in France and other European countries.
For RSL I say go for it, add to the attack and add some Brazilian flair to that Argentine midfield. It could very well be a good enough fit to put RSL in the playoffs for the first time in club history.
