While it isn’t known at the time what exactly is the announcement set by Toronto FC today, it sounds like a big deal from what sources tell me and from what other national media are saying.
At first, most believed it was an announcement for new coaches but now many up in Toronto believe it is something a little bigger than that.
According to Ives, he is saying that the news is bigger than a designated player signing! I don’t know what could be bigger than that but we will see today what exactly is going on up in Canada. It is probably just some over-hype on Mo Johnston’s part to get people to actually pay attention to his club outside of Toronto. Well, it is working if you ask me. I highly doubt the announcement will be anything huge but you never know with Mo.
UPDATE: Looks as though Mo Johnston is moving out of the coach’s spot and into a more Euro-type manager/director role with the club. John Carver has been named head coach of Toronto FC. Honestly a great move for the club as they get a solid coach and keep the man that is regarded as one of the best in the league at finding talent. Really good move for Reds fans if you ask me.
