Word in Colorado is that the Rapids are very serious about signing Gomez. A trade involving Gomez for a Rapids player(s) nearly happened & they're still in talks.

dynamofan: I would have included Houston but right now they do not have the right cap space and the right about of allocation to trade for Gomez. Sure they have lost a couple forwards and could very well use him but the trade wouldn't make sense for DC as much as it would for Houston. That's what happens in the MLS when you win back-to-back titles, you have way less allocation than everyone else. If I remember correctly Houston has around the least amount of allocation anyways. Ask Ives, Goff and anyone else in the soccer blogging world, Houston is not a trade partner for Gomez.

I am trying to figure out how you could list SEVEN of the 14 teams in the league that would be interested in Gomez and omit HOUSTON!!?? They have lost three forwards this winter (Dalglish, Ngwenya, and Jaqua) to European clubs and are VERY interested in a speedy hispanic veteran to pair with Ching since they will have numerous tournaments to play in and have depth everywhere but up top (and at GK since they traded USMNT rep Zach Wells to DC for Boswell).
