Something that was mentioned a week ago or so as a rumor has seemed to come true. The Colorado Rapids have signed defender Chase Hilgenbrinck today.
Just what they need right, another defender? Well, at least the defense should be good this year in Colorado.
Those who don’t know anything about Hilgenbrinck, he has spent his career in Chile after going undrafted back in the 2004 SuperDraft. He signed with Huachipato of the first division and was then loaned to Naval. After his contract expired with Huachipato he signed with Ņublense in the second division, helping them get promoted back into the first division.
He is American, which is a plus for those roster spots.
Interesting note in that article, the Rapids declined an extention on Tony Sanneh and Jose Cancela. I don’t know if that means they are done in Colorado but it appears that is the case.
So Rapids fans, good sign or not? And where is the offense gonna come from here this year?
