For a while the Fire have been looking for someone to play along side Blanco. I’d even heard Blanco trying to get some of his National teammates to come up to the MLS and play in Chicago with him.
But Blanco and the rest of the Fire may need to learn some French since head coach Denis Hamlett and technical director Frank Klopas have traveled to France to see/sign Fabrice Pancrate. The 27-year-old winger/striker could be the running mate for Blanco.
He is currently on a deal with Paris St. Germain, but is playing on loan with Sochaux. The Fire are hoping to buy out the remaining portion of his contract with PSG.
The only worry about this that I have is he isn’t getting quality time with Sochaux right now, so would he even be worth the time in Chicago? Many are thinking this could be the second coming of Pablo Wanchope. SO great, yeah.
Ives did say the “speedy winger” would be a big upgrade to the wings for the Fire. So Justin Mapp on one side and this dude on the other. It could work really if you think about how poor the wing play is in the MLS.
Fire fans, do you want this speedy French winger or do you think the club would be better off with a guy that may suit Blanco more? Your call.
