I stumbled across this article yesterday on Pitch Invasion and had to show you all what I found. They posted the jerseys for 11 of the 14 clubs for this year. Everyone but Toronto, LA and Colorado were shown.
Why not all 14? I think it is due to LA getting new jerseys in the middle of the season; Toronto being an expansion club last year; and the Rapids having an entirely new look in 2007.
Here are the new kits for the clubs:
Kansas City Wizards, Real Salt Lake, San Jose Earthquakes
DC United, New England Revolution, Chivas USA
New York Red Bulls, Columbus Crew, Chicago Fire
FC Dallas and Houston Dynamo
First off, I know many Wizard fans will probably hate me for it but I love the new colors. All it needs is a new logo and that club will be set as far as looks and I may be able to like them more if that were to happen. And from what I hear it probably will soon too.
Some kits didn’t really change, Dallas added some blue, which I do like (I know many Hoops fans don’t). Houston no real change. Same goes for New York, Chivas, and RSL.
San Jose is a nice new look. I like the black kits more than I thought I would when I first saw them a couple months ago.
New England added a little more red which isn’t bad but it isn’t anything great. They just need a kit sponsor to make it more interesting I think. Same goes with DC, which I have to think they will have one soon with their new look, way too much blank space to not be going that direction.
And Columbus and Chicago show off their new sponsors. I am a little indifferent about the Crew kit, I think it will grow on me though. I still think the Fire kit is great even with the Best Buy logo the way it is on there. Many felt it was tacky but I think it works.
What are your impressions of these new kits? Like them? Hate em? Why?
