Probably one of the biggest no-brainers for the back-to-back MLS Cup champion Houston Dynamo, they have decided to give head coach Dominic Kinnear a three-year contract extension through 2010.
Smart move as the league continues to grow, they will need good coaches like Kinnear. I like the commitment factor as well to Kinnear, who has been one of the best the league has ever see in developing young talent. If the league had a couple more coaches like Kinnear we’d be in great shape I think.
Also I have to say that the Dynamo typically play a fairly attractive style of soccer through Kinnear.
Financial terms were not immediately available. An official announcement is expected today.
In just four years, Kinnear rapidly has become one of the most successful coaches in the league. He has a 53-30-41 all-time record in regular-season play and is 8-4 in the playoffs, including 2-0 in league finals.
