RSL Stadium Update

Posted by Drew Epperley under: MLS; Real Salt Lake .

I thought it was a good day as any to show some updates of the new stadium out in Salt Lake. I have to say until Red Bull Park opens up this may be my favorite stadium. More actual news and thoughts coming later on today…this should get us started today though.

Let me know what you think of this stadium and others in the league. Which is the best and which new one could replace your best?

I know these photos may not look like much yet but this stadium will be something special I think. I just hope by the time it opens RSL has a team that can make this a tough place to play in against.

This looks like it will be a great stadium. However, I think Red Bull Park will be better, and if United ever build their stadium, so will it. Personally, the only current soccer-specific stadium I like is Toyota Park. I don’t know why, but HDC bugs me, and Crew Stadium and Pizza Hut are football stadiums, not soccer.

The stadium will be a great asset to the people of SLC and the reigon, I think the
next step though would be for RSL to change their name. It has nothing to do with the
reigon and has about as much in common with Utah as the “Jazz” plucked from New Orleans,
except that this franchise has chosen this name.

MLS will succeed in it’s own right without having to look like a wannabie leauge by using
european names and naming teams after soft drinks. I hope the next stage of the leauges growth
will be to move beyond such things.
