In light of some recent trades I decided to make an update to the 2008 SuperDraft order. The draft is a little more than a month away now (Jan 18th if I am not mistaken) but there is plenty to discuss with this.

Hat tip to Climbing the Ladder once again for updating this as well.

Some picks are still guess-work but I think right now we have a general idea of what order things will be in come next month. I expect an announcement by the end of the year, if not real early in the new year about the draft order. Seeing how it is only a month and change away.

Interesting facts that you will see in the order is how many picks some clubs have. LA still leads the way with eight total picks. I have to believe they will be trading away some of those to get some allocation money or something.

Some where wondering last week why Chivas was quick to dump a lot of players through waivers, I honestly believe it is due to them not having many picks (only two late ones) and the fact that some players (Nunez) had a high contract with little value on the field. I expect Chivas to either look to trade up in the draft or go out and sign a couple seasoned players from somewhere else and probably one (almost) DP-level player. Remember they don’t have a DP thanks to their stupidity with trading for Amado Guevera last year.

I think San Jose will draft very offensively in this draft early on and pick up some decent defenders to back up what they got in the expansion draft a couple weeks back.

If for some reason I have missed a trade or am off on a pick just comment below and I will fix it up.
