Worst MLS Front Office: Colorado Rapids

I never like writing things like this really but when it is due it has to be done. It has been reported by Ives and a couple others today that the Colorado Rapids will do the unthinkable and allow Fernando Clavijo to come back and coach another season in Denver next year.

I must say I am stunned at the fact that they aren’t dumping after another disappointing season, one that he said when he was hired would be an MLS Cup team.

If I were a Rapids fan I would be terribly upset at this news to the point where I would be looking for a new club to support, maybe even the neighbors to the left in Salt Lake.

This news shows that the Rapids front office is either dumber than we first thought or they really think next season will be better than this year. Either way I see Claivjo as a lame duck coach next season and the Rapids fail to make the playoffs yet again under him. He proves to be a horrible manager who makes trades that are questionable every time.

What do you all think of this news? I think The Rapids acceptance of mediocrity is amazing really. Maybe it is denial though…

I am with you. I am shocked by the mediocrity the Rapids strive for. As a Rapids fan it is terribly disappointing to know that next season will be another total bore fest.

Although the Rapids aim for mediocrity they achieve less. With an owner, GM and Front Office that are neither soccer fans nor soccer oriented why expect more. Hell, the Rapids fans get excited over winning the "Reserve" league! Enough said!!!

With the Colorado FO showing what it thinks of its fans, it's time for fans to show what they think of Colorado's FO: <a href="http://centerholdsit.wordpress.com/2007/11/16/daier-weekly-sweeper-1116-things-that-are-wrong-macgyver-lives-in-africa/" target="_blank">BOYCOTT. (it's in there; see the first line). An empty stadium or three should get their attention – especially if all the calls for season-ticket cancellation cite retaining Clavijo as the cause.

wow. i'm surprised they kept clavijo. i was
excited to see their new direction, especially
cause my folks are moving to springs and i would
have been able to attend some matches this next
year, but we'll probably just meet up in chicago.

rapids, get a clue. it's small, but you just lost
at least 10 tickets purchased.
