The last regular season prime-time ESPN2 game pits the New York Red Bulls against the LA Galaxy. The last time we saw these clubs against one another it was a thrilling 5-4 New York win back in August.

Do or die is the terms used around the Galaxy right now who are two wins from a playoff spot, while the Red Bulls are comfortably in the playoffs and are possibly looking towards their first round opponent New England. The Galaxy need a win, not a draw and definitely not a loss. Sure a draw wouldn’t be the end of the world but they definitely need more help.

New York doesn’t need any favors, they are the three seed in the east and will not move anywhere win a win or a loss. You have to think that some key players will be rested in this one and will sit this one out.

I still believe there is some gas in the tank for LA to pull out and get closer to the playoffs. Plus I really want this weekend to be even more interesting than it already can be here. LA winning only turns up the gas on this weekend but a loss would lessen what could be a great final weekend. I just don’t see the Galaxy losing at home right now anyways, their form has been very nice as of late and New York is just a dud on the road. I do expect a pretty entertaining contest though between these two.

WVH Prediction: LA Galaxy 2, New York 1
