To say that tonight’s game between FC Dallas and Chivas USA has a playoff preview written all over it could be an understatement.  The Goats are hoping to inch close tonight with a win over the Hoops  in order to catch DC United in the Supporter’s Shield standings.  Dallas is hoping to win and have a slim shot of hosting an opening round series with Houston.

In what will be Juan Toja Wig Night in Pizza Hut Park, should be a good enough reason to get the fans out to the field on what should be a beautiful night in north Dallas.

So far this season the two clubs have split their season series with one another, both games saw 2-0. The last time they played in Dallas, the Hoops were lead by former Hoops midfielder and current Goat Ramon Nunez for a July 4th win. The table have certainly changed since then as not only has Nunez been transfered over to Chivas from Dallas but both clubs have been on weird trips since those summer months. Chivas is hot as ever while Dallas finally got over the hump last week and clinched a playoff spot after sinking for a few straight weeks.

Dallas will be going with another make-shift lineup tonight while Chivas will only really be missing Nunez to a international call up. However Dallas should be a little better off than they had been as they did finally clinch a playoff spot so they don’t have the pressure of playing to get into the playoffs any more riding on their backs. Chivas has all the pressure right now on their back with the Supporter’s Shield race. To say they aren’t focusing on it would be a bad assessment of the club as they clearly are wanting to win it.

I think this game will be fairly even as things usually are pretty even with the clubs face off in Dallas. Dallas’s defense has to find a way to slow down Maykel Galindo and company in order to even hope to get a point in this one. Chivas just needs to play their game like they did last weekend against Real Salt Lake to win this one.

I honestly am going to call a draw in this one. I think Dallas will play well in this one but won’t be pressing for anything more than points while holding Chivas off until the final second of the game.

WVH Prediction: FC Dallas 1, Chivas USA 1
