Who’s Glidden and What Are They Doing On the Crew’s Jersey?

A new jersey sponsor to add to the growing list of clubs with weird kit sponsors. Thankfully I will take any and all weird ads on the MLS kits these days to get rid of the unsightly team logo in the middle of the jersey.

My question is who is Glidden and what are they doing on the Crew’s jerseys now? Well, Glidden is an on-line paint company. Yeah, paint, add that to the weird supplements and sports drinks that are on MLS club jerseys.

Good move or bad for the Crew? Listen, as I have said before any sponsor is welcome in the league these days. Sure its weird and looks funny on a jersey but that’s soccer for you. MLS clubs aren’t going to rack in the world-wide house hold name sponsors just yet but these are a good start.

And for those keeping track at home about who doesn’t have a kit sponsor it is now down to Chicago, Colorado, Dallas, DC, Kansas City and New England. And if you want you can go ahead and throw in San Jose for next season.
