US To Face Brazil

In what was suppose to be a big time friendly on foreign soil, against a country that we love to hate as Americans; for some reason that has all changed now.

Originally the US was suppose to travel to Mexico for a friendly on September 9 in the friendly confinds of the Azteca. That match apparently had trouble written all over it from the start and is now canceled. The US has rescheduled a friendly for that same date in Chicago against none other than Brazil.

Apparently no real reason has been given or any releases by the USSF, some are guessing that Spanish TV rights were a big reason.

But the lads will face Brazil at Solider Field on ESPN2 and then three days later Brazil will take on Mexico in Foxborough.

An official announcement is expected soon.

I was a little upset at first seeing that we wouldn’t get a chance to possibly beat Mexico at home for once but the chance to play Brazil anytime is something you have to take I think. Brazil should be fielding their main squad as well, it will be a perfect time to really size up ourselves against an team like Brazil. I for one am very excited at the possibility of playing Brazil a couple years away from a World Cup.

You thoughts?
