WVHooligan - Soccer Blog

These previews will be fairly brief as I am about to travel this weekend back east for a week and I have a couple things lined up for today that I have to do. So on with the games and the predictions I suppose.

Columbus Crew at Chicago Fire: Both teams playing well as of late, Chicago has a burst of energy thanks to a new coach and some new players. I still have concerns about the defense holding up if they expect to make a run to get into the playoffs. As for the Crew, their playoff chances are still going and looking fairly good at the moment. They need three points here today though in my mind to stay up in the thick of things. A draw makes the most sense to me right now between these two sides. WVH Prediction: Columbus 1, Chicago 1

Colorado Rapids at FC Dallas: The Rapids have been utterly terrible in the past couple months. They only have themselves to blame really, and that starts with the coaching down to the players. Dallas has looked alright, many will wonder what they will have left in the tank after the 6-5 SuperLiga game on Tuesday with LA. I think Dallas will be fine, however I worry about the defense as many should. Probably no Sala in the net tomorrow in my opinion, not based on the six goals he gave up on Tuesday but on his health. Dallas should get the three points in this one however. WVH Prediction: Dallas 2, Colorado 0

Houston Dynamo at Real Salt Lake: Somehow I view any good team in the MLS going to Real as a trap game anymore. I guess since DC went there and lost it makes sense but New England didn’t fall to it last week and I don’t see Houston doing the same. The Dynamo will show exactly how bad Real is and Real will continue to look like they don’t even remember that Freddy Adu even played for them. WVH Prediction: Houston 3, Salt Lake 0

DC United at New England Revolution: DC hasn’t been playing the best soccer as of late and it is no secret that they aren’t the best road club in the league. New England got a nice win last night over KC and should be able to continue building their lead in the east on Sunday with a win over the United. DC needs a spark from somewhere but I doubt it will come on the road. WVH Prediction: New England 2, DC 1

LA Galaxy at Toronto FC: Both clubs in need of points in this one. Will Beckham play or won’t he, I probably think he won’t be he will be making this trip however. It probably won’t matter a whole heck of a lot what the Gals do up in Toronto. It will be their first taste of the craziness that is BMO Field. I see a fairly physical game with several yellows being handed out, but as for the goals it should be a tight one. Safe bet going with a draw here. WVH Prediction: Toronto 2, LA 2

Hate to say it but DCU won convincingly. Despite the number of games that they have played recently (i.e. SuperLiga) they did very well against NE. This without Gomez, Fred, Moreno (who looks to be reinjured)…

A good performance from DCU. Vamos United!!
