After a day or so off from posting, it is back to work now that I am in Texas for a little while (normally I am in my usual post in Morgantown, West Virginia if anyone really wanted to know). The 4th of July is upon us and the league has packed us with a few games to view and enjoy. These may be a bit quick though as I have lots to catch up with here after a couple days on the road.
DC United at Kansas City Wizards: DC is a not a great road team as we have seen in recent weeks (losing at RSL) and Kansas City has been a bit pathetic as of late (winless in the last four). I have a feeling things will be a bit different in this contest since both teams will be lacking players to Copa America. KC looked like a much weaker team without Jimmy Conrad and Eddie Johnson. I think DC will be fine enough to pull through in this one as I think it will be a very close contest and possibly a very physical one.

If KC is to win they have to get players like Michael Harrington and Scott Sealy involved. But I honestly don’t think that will be enough against the United.

WVH Prediction: DC 2, KC 1

Chivas USA at FC Dallas: I think this is a match for Dallas right now. Chivas is a bit up and down at this point and they will need more than Maykel Galindo to score. Chivas has been pathetic on the road thus far as we saw a week or so ago in Houston. Dallas is finally getting some home games here and should be able to get some points in this one.

I think Carlos Ruiz will finally get a goal or two in this one. I think he will light up Frisco tomorrow night before all the fireworks take place at the Frisco Freedom Fireworks Festival.

WVH Prediction: FCD 3, Chivas 2

Columbus Crew at Colorado Rapids: Columbus is hot as of late and Colorado has stunk up the joint more than anything. If the Rapids are going to save their coach’s job then they need this game badly. They got off to a decent start at saving his job on Sunday when they tied the Fire. I think this game will go a lot like this past Sunday. I think the Crew are good enough to beat the Rapids at this point but being on the road makes this a little more difficult.

If Schelotto makes his mark in this game then the Crew will easily win, if not then this is a draw and nothing more. The Rapids just don’t have enough offensive power to do win this game in my opinion.

WVH Prediction: Columbus 1, Colorado 1

Toronto FC at Real Salt Lake: The Reds summer tour continues tomorrow in Salt Lake City. I think this is the game that gets the Reds their first ever road win. They played well in Kansas City but didn’t get enough up top to get the three points but one was good enough in my opinion.

Salt Lake may have finally won a game but I doubt it will be enough because I still believe Toronto is a much better club than Salt Lake at this point. Salt Lake is still missing a couple pieces to the puzzle and Robbie Findley isn’t going to be enough in my eyes.

Toronto should be able to do it and Jeff Cunningham will be the man to do it against his old club.

WVH Prediction: TFC 3, RSL 1

Chicago Fire at LA Galaxy: Hey, 9 days until David Beckham plays…and tomorrow may be the debut of Blanco for the Fire but will it really matter? The Fire are dreadful at this point and then again so are the Galaxy. However, I do think the Galaxy will surprise some people and pull through and get three points in this one. Chicago is even more pathetic than the Galaxy at this point I think.

WVH Prediction: LA 2, Chicago 1

I will attempt to get my weekly power rankings in by sometime tonight…or I may just hold off until next week…
